What type of degree do I receive?

Upon graduating and meeting all requirements, you will receive a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from UW-Madison. You will also be eligible for certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Are there any prerequisites I must meet in order to apply?

Yes, applicants must complete the prerequisite coursework including anatomy & physiology with laboratory, microbiology with laboratory, general chemistry with laboratory and other courses as outlined on our website.

How many students are accepted each year?

We accept up to 60 students each year.

Is clinical experience required?

Yes, prior clinical experience is highly recommended. Our curriculum includes both classroom instruction and clinical rotations in order to gain real world experience working alongside medical professionals.
