Condition of women in Bangladesh
Traditionally women are treated inferior to men. So, they live in a male-dominated society. They are often deprived of proper education and care. They have almost no economic security. Besides, violence against women is alarmingly high. Women are also physically and sexually harassed in their families and job places. However, this scenario is changing gradually in Bangladesh.

Women empowerment is essential to ensure sustainable development. Women constitute almost half of our total population. If they are not empowered, they will not be able to take part in the development process. Besides, women’s empowerment is a must to ensure human rights.
